A range of Cook Well, Work Well example programmes are outlined below.  Let's Get Cooking can also offer tailored programmes to support wellbeing in your workplace - contact us to discuss your requirements.

Option 1: Cook Well, Work Well 3 x 5 hour sessions

An intense, high impact course, geared towards those with busy working lives.  The course includes:

  • learning how to cook, prepare and eat well for individual lifestyles;
  • preparing and cooking healthy meals;
  • understanding the challenges to weight management;
  • information and practical tips on how to eat a balanced diet;
  • how to eat the right size portions;
  • making individual small pledges to improve eating and exercise habits;
  • comparing the cost of homemade and ready-prepared food;
  • time saving ways to shop and cook for eating well.

Workshops can be run as a long morning, long afternoon or spread over a full day, to fit in with working patterns.  We recommend running this course over 3 months.

Option 2: Cook Well, Work Well 3 x 3 hour evening sessions

A shorter version of the above course.  We recommend at least 3 weeks between each workshop.

Option 3: Cook and taste sessions

One-off activities when Let's Get Cooking staff deliver healthy cooking demonstrations to groups of staff.

These provide opportunities for staff to improve their understanding of how to eat healthily, try some Let's Get Cooking dishes, and be inspired by fun and accessible cooking.  Recipes can be agreed with the employer prior to the session, and copies of recipes available for staff to take away.  A series of sessions can be run so that staff build a repertoire of dishes to cook and good food to eat.

Option 4: Training for workplace health, food and wellbeing ambassadors and leaders

A 2-day training course and a year of ongoing support: the course (for up to 20 staff) gives delegates the skills, knowledge and confidence to run on-site healthy cooking demonstrations and food workshops for employees throughout the year.

The course also provides delegates with ideas and training on how to incorporate healthy food activities into events such as corporate meetings and family sports days.  Online resources and advice from Let's Get Cooking trainers are available to delegates for a year following training.

Cook Well, Work Well sessions can be run on-site if appropriate space is available, or Let's Get Cooking can source an appropriate off-site venue where necessary.

All programmes include evaluation, which enables you to track the difference that Cook Well, Work Well is making to the wellbeing of your employees.

"I now have a better awareness of portion sizes and food values on processed foods.  I feel I have more energy and have joined an exercise class.  My concentration is much better."
