Between 2007 and 2010, Let's Get Cooking is inviting every school in England to apply to join its network.

Let's Get Cooking recruits new clubs in small geographical clusters, so that they can build up a local network and attend nearby training events.  Every six months, around 450 schools (50 from each region) sign up to Let's Get Cooking. This follows invitations to every school in selected local authorities to apply to join. Schools sign up via the Let's Get Cooking website at a certain date and time. Details are provided in the invitation letters.

Each local authority is allocated a quota of new club places based on the total number of schools and the number of schools with a higher number of pupils eligible for free school meals (over 22.8%).

Schools with more than 22.8% of pupils eligible for free school meals are given priority and are invited to apply via the website two days earlier than the remaining schools.

Let's Get Cooking has consulted with regional food and health professionals, such as Healthy Schools Coordinators, Extended Schools and other local contacts, to establish the order in which it visits each local authority.  See the club recruitment timetable below to see when Let's Get Cooking is coming to your area and how many new club places have been allocated to your local authority.

Register your interest and you will be sent an email a couple of weeks before Let's Get Cooking writes to schools in your local authority, so you can ask your headteacher to look out for the invitation letter.

Apply now to become an associate club

If you already have an extra-curricular cookery club at your school you can apply now to join Let's Get Cooking as an associate club.  Click here to find out more.
