New Let’s Get Cooking clubs receive the following training:

Introductory Session

Once schools receive confirmation that they have been accepted as a Let’s Get Cooking club, two adults attend a local Introductory Session (about two hours) where they learn more about how Let’s Get Cooking works. There are plenty of opportunities to ask questions and each clubs receive its Start-Up pack, full of resources. Schools sign the agreement and complete their funding application.  The Club Coordinator and a member of the school's senior management team must attend.

Demonstrator Training

Two adult demonstrators from each club attend a two-day, cookery training course, providing them with cooking presentation skills, safety knowledge and the confidence to show club members how to make a range of recipes which they can make at school or home.

Start-Up Day

A group of up to six children and adults from each club attend a local Start-Up Day to start cooking, get ideas and inspiration for food activities, meet other local clubs and start cooking.

Clubs receive funding and access to the password-protected club zone of our website shortly after all training is complete.

Access to Regional Training Officer and Regional Club Coordinator

All clubs have access to regional Let’s Get Cooking staff who are available to provide advice and support.

Associate clubs

Associate clubs have access to support from regional Let’s Get Cooking staff but do not receive face-to-face training.
