Jamie Oliver says “pass it on”

Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver’s recent Ministry of Food TV campaign, which taught people to cook a recipe and then ‘pass it on’ to someone else, has sparked publication this month of Let’s Get Cooking’s new Easy Peasy Omelette recipe.

Specially created, tried and tested, this easy Let’s Get Cooking recipe is designed to give member clubs a fun way for people both to practise their cooking skills and to share them with others. The versatile recipe can be done in many different ways, so the challenge is on for every club to try it out and see how many people they can pass it on to.

Signed copies of Jamie’s new Ministry of Food book will land with a randomly selected sample of clubs reporting their Pass it On results on the Let’s Get Cooking club zone and club forum.

Jamie Oliver welcomed the intiative and has invited clubs using and passing on the recipe to report directly to his Ministry of Food website. There, they can start their own Pass it On chain to reach as many people as possible with this easy recipe.

Jamie said: “All of you guys at Let’s Get Cooking can really make a difference to help get the nation cooking again. So pass it on and have fun!”

The Easy Peasy Omelette recipe was developed after staff members at Let’s Get Cooking quickly recognized the close links between their own work and that of the Pass it On campaign.

Let’s Get Cooking Director David Edwards said: “We saw Jamie’s campaign as a brilliant complement to what we are doing, so the recipe seemed an ideal way to link the two and benefit as many people as possible.

“The more people who learn and develop their cooking skills, the better, so we hope our clubs enjoy cooking and passing on this easy recipe as far and as wide as they can.”
