The London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Organising Committee commissioned Let’s Get Cooking to develop a programme, Let’s Get Cooking Around the World, to encourage schools to get involved in London 2012 and help promote the Olympic and Paralympic Values:
The Olympic Values are:
- friendship
- excellence
- respect.
The Paralympic Values are:
- inspiration
- determination
- courage
- equality.
The Let's Get Cooking Around the World resources are available as part of Get Set and are for use in schools to teach languages through cooking, in a practical and fun way. Get Set is the official education programme of London 2012, built around the Olympic and Paralympic Values.
Schools taking part in Let’s Get Cooking Around the World activities can apply to become a member of the Get Set network. The Get Set network is a special community of schools and colleges that are recognised and rewarded for demonstrating their commitment to the Olympic and Paralympic Values.
